Our Story

In 1974, Samoa Nazarene Bible College was established with 8 pioneer students under the leadership of Rev. Jerry Appleby. It was developed as an institution of the Church of the Nazarene International. A little more than a decade later, it became the Samoa Nazarene Theological College before joining with the regional South Pacific Nazarene Theological College together with Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Micronesia.

We exist here to assist you in your preparation for ministry in the Nazarene Church. To do this we offer programmes in Diploma in Theology and Bachelor in Theology to equip you for ministry and services in the Church. In this website, we introduce you to the curriculum, programmes and policies of the Samoa Nazarene Campus.

We hope that through your education and training with us you will be able to understand what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and will become an effective minister of the Word of God, saving souls for Christ.

We hope to guide you through your residency in this Institution and that by following its policies, guidelines and programmes you will also find the joys of success through hard work and discipline.

Welcome once again and we wish you success throughout your time at SPNTC Samoa Campus.

SPNTC works closely with the district and local church leadership. Students are assigned to work with local church pastors, district evangelism personnel, church planting mission, and compassionate ministry programmes during their study programme. SPNTC works with district leaders to help meet present and future leadership needs of the local church and the continued education of the ministers. SPNTC  and district leadership partnership will help SPNTC faculty to see the needs of the local church and develop courses of study that cater for the church needs. Students shall be involved in local church ministry throughout their study.

Mission

The mission and purpose of SPNTC shall be primarily to serve the Church of the Nazarene in Samoa and the Pacific by providing Christian Education to advance the Kingdom of God through the ministry of the Church of the Nazarene in its religious and educational activities in harmony with the Districts, the Nazarene educational oversight bodies, and the Manual of the Church of the Nazarene.

The overall focus of SPNTC is to equip and prepare people in the Wesleyan-Armenian tradition and perspective to fulfill the Great Commission and Great Commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ as they engage in full time ministry. Provide an atmosphere of faith and devotion that will assist students in growing spiritually. And provide all courses necessary for ordination in the Church of the Nazarene.

Vision

We envision the SPNTC Samoa Campus shall develop into an environment where students are nurtured and edify the values of the Church.

  • Attain Christlike character and lifestyle
  • Have a zeal for Holiness evangelism and discipline
  • Be enthusiastic in Pastoral Care
